Social Gardens - Places of Encounter
What is it about?
Under the central theme of Social Gardens, spoga+gafa 2023 was dedicated to gardens as connecting places of encounter: In times of increasing urbanization, green outdoor areas and gardens are becoming more and more important as common places of retreat. In the private sphere, for example, they stand for relaxed get-togethers or shared barbecues, while in the public sphere, as garden trends such as City Gardening, they also promote coming together in (semi-) public spaces.
During the Guided Tour at the fair, the leading theme was highlighted by pioneering products and presentations by exhibitors. The focus is not only on design and functionality, but also on the social and interactive quality of the innovations presented. The garden living space is seen as an opportunity to rediscover community and become active together.
