Designing a sustainable garden is a process that isn't completed in the first year. A good garden is further developed and optimised through professional planning and expert care. It is not at all easy to define what distinguishes a sustainable garden. It should be in harmony with nature, insect-friendly, easy to care for - these are mostly the demands of the customers. They additionally also want an area for growing vegetables. But sustainability also means planting perennials and bushes that are resistant to diseases so that one can dispense with chemical pesticides later on. A professional execution using the fitting materials is also elementary. This is namely the only way to avoid damage as far as possible and thus also disputes and costs.
The four speakers of the Practical Garden Day explained the important basics and aspects of planning a sustainable garden and convey special knowledge from the realm of practice. After the Practical Day, tours to selected exhibitors across the fair grounds was offered.
