As the largest garden fair in the world, the upcoming spoga+gafa will be showcasing a wide range of outdoor furniture and accessories - including numerous new products for the contract business. Especially in hotels and restaurants, the demand for comfortable design for outdoor lounges is increasing.

From 1 to 3 September 2019, spoga+gafa will be offering a comprehensive overview of current outdoor trends. In addition to a variety of products for the private garden, this also includes novelties for the furnishing of objects: garden and terrace furniture, plant pots or decorative elements for use in cafés, hotels and other objects. The fact that this sector has great potential for exhibitors is shown by the development of recent years.

Outdoor areas have long since become an integral part of gastronomy and the hotel sector. In Germany, for example, the majority of hotels and restaurants now have open-air spaces. With the new desire for dining or relaxing in the open air, however, the demands on comfort have increased as well. In addition to the formerly common seating, today there are increasingly sofas, armchairs and other lounge furniture on café or restaurant terraces. Carpets, vases and table decorations create a homely ambience, while outdoor LED lighting creates the right mood.

Different requirements for products and distribution

However, manufacturers in the contract business must adjust to other product requirements. Due to the heavy duty, the demands on durability and ease of care in this area are particularly high. The sales structures are also different. Unlike sales via retail, architects, interior designers, object setters or large hotel chains are among the target groups. Higher quantities for the equipment of restaurants and hotels make this additional effort attractive. Many exhibitors of spoga+gafa therefore have a special sales department for the contract business.

The trade fair itself has also been geared towards interior designers, designers and other planners and, in addition to the novelties of the exhibitors, offers an exciting supporting program. Lectures, special areas and the “Trendshow Outdoor Lifestyle” offer a variety of impulses and information for these target groups.
