Summertime is barbecue time - even on the balcony or the roof terrace. Exhibitors of spoga+gafa show how the best of the barbecue can be made in the city.

With City Gardening spoga+gafa is setting a new main focus at the coming edition. Because for city dwellers, green areas are becoming increasingly important as a place of refuge - be it as a private retreat or for a get-together in the park. The barbecue is one of the most popular pastimes. For grilling on your own balcony or in the allotment garden there are now numerous products that are specially tailored to the needs in urban areas.

Many manufacturers have compact grill models in the range, which take up little space at high power. Today, modern high-tech appliances allow not only grilling but also other types of preparation such as smoking or baking. Cast-iron plancha grills or stacking grids for barbecuing directly in the embers or fireplates extend the range of applications in the city.

Practical alternative for the city

Especially in the urban environment gas grills are a practical alternative to the variant with charcoal. A low smoke development speaks in favour of these models as well as the avoidance of ash or charcoal. High-quality devices have multiple burners and can be equipped with various features such as a side burner or separate steak field.

For smoky flavors without smoke, the market offers not only compact coal and gas grills but also small appliances. Portable grill models can be taken to the city park. For firing coals with long burning time are offered in small packages "to go".

A current trend for barbecuing in the city is the use of compact high temperature or upper heat grills. With infrared technology and temperatures of about 800 degrees, they are suitable for sharp grilling and give the meat a completely new flavor. A special plus for the city: due to their construction, newer models offer a great comfort in handling and cleaning.

For sophisticated cooking under urban skies, there are modular outdoor kitchens, whose elements can be individually combined in a limited space. Modern kitchen units for outside can be individually combined with elements such as sinks, refrigerators or worktops and can be set up safely on a balcony.
