With the display of a fully equipped camper van, spoga+gafa will feature an immersive gathering spot. As the centerpiece of the new “Outdoor Adventure” theme area, it will offer concrete ideas for modern product range and point-of-sale concepts. We spoke with Janni and Paul from deinraus.de about the camper setup and new camping trends.

An immersive camper experience

Janni and Paul, you’re currently outfitting the campervan for the new Outdoor Adventure theme area at spoga+gafa. What can visitors expect at the trade show?
With our conversion of a VW T6 4Motion, we have the opportunity to design the centerpiece of the themed area. Our goal is to show how versatile, modular, and at the same time comfortable traveling in a compact van can be. The vehicle is complemented by selected products such as roof tents and outdoor equipment, which meaningfully expand the concept and bring it to life.
What inspiration does this offer retailers?
We hope that visitors will see themselves reflected in this and take away the inspiration to integrate a little more adventure into their everyday lives—whether in their own vehicle or in their own product range. At the same time, we want to demonstrate the potential that the camping and adventure segment holds for retailers and how different solutions can be flexibly integrated into existing product ranges.

Current camping trends

Camping is definitely a lifestyle trend. What developments are you currently seeing in this area?
In addition to the ongoing trend toward high-quality, customizable recreational vehicles, we’re seeing a growing demand for smaller, multifunctional camping solutions. With our brand roazy, we develop modular conversions for high-roof vans like the VW Caddy that are tailored precisely to these needs. In a sense, they represent the next step for anyone looking for a bit more comfort than traditional tent camping, bikepacking, or roof tent trips offer. What unites these forms of camping above all is the desire for spontaneity: just hitting the road without lengthy preparations. Whether with your everyday car, a roof tent, or a modular conversion—as soon as the weather is right, your weekend trip to the coast can begin.

Requirements for camper conversions

What do you consider most important when converting a camper?
For us, the quality of a good conversion lies in finding the best possible balance for the specific use. To us, balance doesn’t mean making sacrifices, but rather setting priorities: Which features are truly essential? Where is it worth investing space? And where can we intentionally create flexibility? When a vehicle perfectly matches the needs of its users—that’s when we consider it ideal.

Adapting to today's customer needs

What are the current requirements for camping?
As travel becomes more spontaneous, self-sufficiency is also gaining increasing importance. Portable energy storage systems—familiar to many from the world of balcony power plants—are ideal for camping and allow travelers to venture out without relying on campground infrastructure. However, the trend toward off-grid camping also brings challenges—for example, in the area of sanitation solutions. Dry-separation toilets or modern battery-powered systems offer comfortable and hygienic alternatives to traditional chemical toilets. With rising fuel prices, traveling by electric car is also becoming increasingly relevant.
How do you tailor the campers to your customers’ needs?
Many of our customers usually already have very specific ideas—but often don’t yet know exactly how to achieve them. That’s why, at the beginning, the most important thing is to really listen. Not just to what they want—but also to how the vehicle will be used later on. Because that’s exactly what leads to the best solutions in the end. Depending on the initial situation, we compare different vehicle concepts—such as a pickup truck with a living cabin versus an all-wheel-drive Sprinter—and also guide the selection and purchase process. This step in particular is often underestimated.

Looking forward to spoga+gafa

And what are you looking forward to at the upcoming spoga+gafa?
We deliberately don’t see ourselves as a traditional vehicle conversion manufacturer, but rather as a workshop. Every vehicle is created in close collaboration with our customers—from the initial idea to the final handover. This personalized support throughout the entire process is a central part of our work. The conversion of the VW T6 for spoga+gafa is therefore a perfect fit for us—and we are very excited to be able to contribute to the new Outdoor Adventure theme world. We are very eager to hear the feedback and look forward to chatting with you in person during the trade show.
From June 22 to 24, 2026, spoga+gafa invites you to experience the new Outdoor Adventure theme world. There, the customized campervan from deinraus.de will be on display in a central location, showcasing how offerings from Outdoor Adventure, garden lifestyle, and BBQ work together perfectly: outdoor furniture, camping, cooking, lighting, tools, textiles, accessories—all in a realistic setting. This setting provides fresh ideas for cross-selling on the sales floor, storytelling at the POS, and modern product ranges.
